Release Notes - 10ᵗʰ of August 2026

We are excited to share the latest enhancements deployed to Invent Medical! This update introduces a major overhaul of the medical summary and procedure tracking, new package management features, expanded audit logging, enhanced document viewing, and key reporting updates.

📑 Medical Summary & Procedure Tracking​

  • Flexible Medical Summary Cards:
    • Cards can now be resized, hidden, or reset to default layouts at any time, supporting tall cards for procedures and wide cards for flowsheets.
    • Pages now paginate cleanly by height.
  • Procedure Card Quick Actions & Billing:
    • Update treatment status and send procedures to billing directly from the summary card.
    • The card now displays real-time billing status for each procedure.
  • Phase Timestamps:
    • Editable timestamps for Planned, Starts, Ends, and Completed stages reflect the procedure's current treatment status.
  • Diagnoses Integration & Bulk Actions:
    • The procedure form now includes a dedicated Diagnoses card.
    • Perform bulk updates to treatment statuses, send multiple procedures to billing at once, or use the quick "Set Complete" shortcut.
  • Billing & Insurance Rules:
    • Billing details and procedure templates automatically lock once a procedure has an invoice or active insurance claim.
    • Dental template switching is restricted when new and previous templates are incompatible.
    • Added a Not Billable to Insurance flag for templates, removing policy requirements and setting the status to "Not Billable to Insurance".
    • Renamed the "Pending" billing status to Not Sent to distinguish it clearly from treatment statuses.

📂 Documents & Observation Charts​

  • Document Viewer & Category Colors:
    • Document folders inherit their color directly from their document category settings.
    • Added an Info Panel next to file previews showing full file details.
    • Browser-unsupported formats (e.g., TIFF, DICOM, archives) display a friendly type label with a clean download prompt.
    • Audio files now play directly inside the viewer.
    • Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files open straight into desktop Office applications when installed, with a fall-back download option.
  • Multi-Series Observation Charts:
    • Plot multiple observations on a single chart with custom labels, colors, and display order. Includes a built-in blood pressure chart by default.

💳 Packages, Billing & Financial Reports​

  • Discounts on Packages:
    • Packages and package templates now support fixed or percentage discounts, complete with price summaries ensuring final totals never fall below zero.
    • Edit purchased package quantities while in draft state, with usage and balance fields revealing automatically once confirmed.
  • Package & Statement Reporting:
    • Package Report: Added an overview of purchased packages tracking terms, usage, expiry, utilization rate, and net pricing after discounts.
    • Patient Statements: Export comprehensive summaries of patient account movements as printable statements.
    • Added a new Price After Discount column to package lists.
  • Invoice & Payment Enhancements:
    • Invoices now display discount amounts and line item numbers on exports.
    • Added a Notes field to payment forms, and medical dashboard currency now automatically aligns with the selected company.

🔒 Advanced Data Export & Audit Log​

  • Data Export with Attachments:
    • Request complete patient exports including attachment files alongside reports and images, with upfront estimates of file count and size.
    • Integrated an approval workflow for high-volume exports, recording review notes, timestamps, and notifications.
  • Redesigned Audit Log:
    • Redesigned detail view tracking activity context, impacted resources, user actions, and side-by-side "before and after" change tables.
    • Formatted text values and currency amounts render cleanly instead of showing raw markup.
    • Tracks individual field histories, document printing events, bulk print counts, invoice prints, and family member updates.

📅 Appointments & General Clinical Fixes​

  • Appointment Enhancements:
    • "Send to Billing" is now accessible directly from procedure rows within appointments.
    • Procedures added under an appointment inherit the appointment’s assigned provider.
    • The calendar now features a real-time Now indicator.
  • Clinical & System Fixes:
    • Flowsheets & Forms: Flowsheet selection elements without answer lists convert to free-text inputs, and date filters in reports default to full 24-hour ranges (00:00 to 23:59).
    • Appointments & Pinboard: Resolved appointment pinboard drop behavior, list view transitions, and waiting room status updates.
    • UI & Display: Fixed family preferred names, tab titles, favicon rendering, custom field value loads, and persistent column visibility settings across line tables.
