How to Generate a Barcode in Invent ERP?

Barcodes are essential for fast scanning, accurate inventory tracking, and streamlined sales processes. Invent ERP lets you generate unique barcodes for your products directly from the system directly from the system - eliminating manual entry and reducing errors.

Step-by-Step Process​

Step 1: Create a Product Category with a Barcode Sequence​

From the Main Menu, go to Sales → Product → Product Categories.

From the Product Category List page , click Add to create a new Category

Start filling in your product category details

Add a Prefix to define how barcodes will be generated and then click Save

Avoid switching between manual and automatic inventory valuation or changing the costing method, as this may cause inconsistencies between stock valuation and accounting records.

Navigate to the Product page and click on Add to create a new product

Fill in the product details and make sure to select the Product Category you created

Step 7: Confirm Automatic Barcode Generation​

Once the product is created, the system will automatically generate and display the barcode sequence for the product

Step 7 - Enable VAT Barcode

Step 8: Enable VAT in Barcode Printing (Optional)​

By default, barcodes are generated without including the VAT amount in the printed price. If you want your barcodes to display prices including VAT, you can enable this option from the system settings. Navigate to Configuration → Setting

  • Always create and configure the barcode sequence at the category level before adding products to ensure consistent barcode generation.
